Meet Arthur!
Arthur is a 2 year old male Corgi. He has recently been neutered & is up to date on his vaccines. Arthur is a typical backyard bred Corgi, with a lack of training. After biting a child, he was surrender to a shelter prior to joining DCC.
Arthur is not a bad dog, he just lacks training. He would benefit from a home that has an understanding of herding breeds, preferably with Corgi or German Shepherd experience. He is a high energy guy, who needs someone that understands his genetic behaviours, & knows how to properly fulfill him. Arthur can take time to warm up to strange men. He is not a fan of children. We assume that being bothered by children likely led to the bite & his dislike of children. Therefore, he will not be rehomed with children.
As he was intact when he came into our care, he is exhibiting some typical intact male behaviours. These may or may not subside, now that he has been neutered. He is not good with other male dogs, & will not be rehomed with one. He may need ongoing management for these behaviours.
Arthur is not the cuddly type. He needs someone that understands this breed, and is willing to put in the time & energy to train him & manage his behaviour in order to ensure his future success.
Arthur is good with female dogs. He has not been cat tested. He needs a home with a fenced yard to help meet his exercise needs.
